It’s been a tough 18 months for the hospitality industry worldwide, and particularly in South Africa where so many hotels, reserves and lodges are dependent on inbound long-haul tourism from the US and Europe to keep the coffers full.
So it’s especially good to see one local reserve not only surviving, but innovating.
The Plains of Camdeboo are one of my favourite corners of South Africa, and at Mount Camdeboo Private Nature Reserve the owner Iain Buchanan has dreamt up a fantastic new way to marvel at those wide open spaces.
